Emotional Documentary Storytelling

My work begins with observation; the way light moves through a room, how a guest inhabits a space, or how the wilderness holds its breath before movement. I look for the spaces between: the quiet seconds where stories unfold naturally, unposed and honest.

Each project explores four interconnected narratives that define the African experience: the refined beauty of interiors, the emotion of guest moments, the rhythm of nature, and the soul of its people. When photographing interiors, I focus on the dialogue between design and nature - how texture, light, and architecture come together to evoke a sense of place.

In capturing guest experiences, I seek the moments that shape memory - the ones guests will take home and hold forever. The first morning light spilling into a suite, the warmth of conversation beneath lanterns, the silent awe of standing before something greater than oneself. These are the moments that linger, the ones that become part of the story guests tell long after they’ve left.

Wildlife remains at the heart of my work, not only as a visual celebration of Africa’s beauty, but as a reflection of relationship. I am deeply drawn to the connection between people and animals, to the trust built through respect, and to the way wildlife allows us into their world with quiet permission. Each image becomes a tribute to that fragile balance - a conversation between the seen and the unseen.

And then there is culture - the people whose stories and traditions give meaning to place. Through them, I capture the human heartbeat of Africa: its resilience, its warmth, and its belonging.

My background in psychology shapes how I see. It helps me read energy; the anticipation in a guest’s expression, the harmony of a space, the unspoken understanding between a guide and an elephant. That intuition allows me to move beyond aesthetics to create imagery that resonates; images that don’t just show Africa, but make you feel her pulse.

Each frame is a balance of instinct and design - where light, atmosphere, and emotion meet. My goal is always the same: to tell stories that are timeless, grounded in truth, and deeply connected to this continent I call home.
